The Intelligent Air Cushion by Direct Healthcare sets a new benchmark in wheelchair seating, offering superior pressure redistribution without the need for setup or re-pumping. Using Reactive Airflow technology, its system of foam- and air-filled cells with a patented valve automatically adjusts to each user’s weight and movement, making it ideal for both individual and multi-user care environments. This Vapour Flow version includes a highly breathable cover with a 50% Moisture Vapour Transfer Rate (MVTR), compared to the 9–12% MVTR of Dartex covers. The enhanced breathability helps to reduce shearing forces and contributes to pressure ulcer prevention, without compromising waterproofing. It is particularly well suited for high-risk users in hospital wards, nursing homes, or homecare environments where long-term comfort, safety, and infection control are priorities.
